No Reason is a Good Reason!

Trust me…
No reason is also a good reason for mehandhi!

Mehdhi Laga Ke Rakhna....

A Mehandhi design… I made in my hand…
I was elated when I found that it has taken a darker shade…
Hope you like it!

PS: Mehndi/mehandhi is henna paste filled into a conical tube which is used to make intricate designs in the hands and feet of women and sometimes (especially during marriage) men. Such henna paste is made by drying henna leaves and crushing them into powder. Mehndi designs can be broadly classified as Arabic designs, Indian designs and Pakistani designs.

Simple Arabic Mehandhi

I really enjoy making Mehandhi. The entire process is very satisfying – From designing the designs, trying the best to make it look as perfect, at least appealing for that matter, as possible and finally hoping that the color turns out be as dark/red as possible.

Around the age of 13years, I started to put Mehandhi – on my hands as well as on others’. Since then, I have also wished that someday someone else would put one in my hand. It had, however, remained a dream until recently.

My mother and I had gone for shopping and saw that the store was offering free Mehandhi Service as a part of Banaras Silk Festival. I was overjoyed and decided to seize the opportunity. It was a very simple and redundant design. But, I was totally excited!!

Such little joys make life, I guess J

My Favorite Mehandhi

This is one of those days when I a dead tired after a really-really long day at office…
Yet, traditionally forced to draw Mehandhi in my hand…

And, this is one of those really-really rare times when the Mehandhi turns out to be brilliant…
Exceeding my expectations… And surpassing my past performances!!!

So, presenting to you…

My favorite Mehandhi (till date).

My Best Ever!

Also, presenting to you a not-so-perfect-one!!!
(Shamelessly)

On my Bestie's Hands, On her Wedding!

And that day dawned…
My best friend’s wedding!

It seemed like a dream…
Surrounded by her family…
And our mutual friends…

It is one afternoon and a Mehandhi session that I would cherish for a lifetime!

Here is a glimpse of her Mehandhi-clad hands!
